First of all, we'd like to extend a big "thank you" to everyone who has shown interest or has contributed to this community project. Your attendance at meetings, emails, conversations, etc. have been much appreciated and have been noted. Throughout the past 2+ months we have been excited by the number of people we have been able to meet and interact with, proving to us that this community really does care about the future of Pinecraft. We're looking forward to the next few weeks as we pull all of our work/the ideas and opinions we have collected together and present a complete document.
A little over a week ago Niles went back to Goshen, which was part of our plan at the beginning. While he will still be in communication with us about the Pinecraft project, he is now working hard at preparing for an upcoming Menno Tea trade show. In the meantime, Hans and I (Emma) are continuing the work down here and this week and will give the county a hard copy of our proposals at the end of the week. From there, we'll wait for feedback and continue to listen and join in on conversations regarding the project.
We have had a number of community meetings, sharing with everyone the list of 25 proposals we have collected, based off of previous meetings with Pinecraft homeowners and renters. These 25 proposals were "voted" on by about 120 homeowners and renters in a poll, and we received overwhelming support of each one (see photos below for the survey questions.) Hans and I then took these ideas and presented them to representatives from different county departments, hearing positive feedback from each one presented. This is great news as we now have a good idea that our written document will be one that is feasible for Pinecraft.
We'll be sure to post some sort of update once we submit our final document to the county. Thanks again for checking in on us!
