- Our work will allow us to develop a master plan for the neighborhood of Pinecraft that will preserve and enhance the community. This plan will provide ideas for new land use, safety codes and architectural guidelines that will help meet the needs of the neighborhood. Working with a steering community made up of representatives from Pinecraft, the team will establish a scope of work and an assessment tool for the land owners which will be used to develop an assessment of needs. Proposals will be constructed, tested, and eventually translated into a master community plan.
- The objective of the project is to identify which values the neighborhood deems as important and to obtain a sense of need in the community.
- The plan will be developed through interaction and conversation with the community members by way of public meetings and meetings that take place with smaller groups and individuals. Ultimately those community members who participate in the process will determine what the plan addresses. It has been made clear though interaction with the community so far that a primary objective of the plan would be the preservation of the Pinecraft community and its cultural heritage.
A good community plan can serve not only as common vision, but also a guide to planning and investment decisions for the community and county government.
